Smith polarized sunglasses block out 99.9% of glare, which prevents eye fatigue. The Smith polarized lens is actually a high grade polarized film, surrounded by two thin wafers of either Techlite glass or Carbonic lens material. This ensures that the polarized film is protected from the elements. Because of the care in which the film is made to fit the lense, the wearer can experience distortion free polarization.
When light enters a medium, refraction takes place and the light bends. This is why when looking through an aquarium the fish is not in exactly the same spot as it appears because of the refraction of the glass.
